OUR MISSION
Growing Faithful Children is a Church of Christ organization that's purpose is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to children around the world and to teach those children to have a positive impact on their community through Christ-centered living.
WHAT WE DO
SCHOOL IMPACT
With our organization’s mission, we emphasize the potential that children have. We spend three to six hours a day in different schools, teaching life lessons with Christian principles.
CHURCH IMPACT
At Growing Faithful Children, we are dedicated to taking resources and being a blessing to those that we come in contact with through the schools. We have the opportunity to provide books, meals, paint, furniture, and even Ipads to be used in the classrooms.

JASON GREEN
Field Operations Director
Jason is currently the Youth Minister at the Prattville Church of Christ in Prattville, AL. He has served as either youth minister or minister at congregations in Florida and Alabama over the last 27 years. Jason graduated from Faulkner University in 1995. He is married to Cassandra (Williams) Green, and they have two children, Brad and Kara. He has been involved with several stateside mission efforts as well as mission trips to Panama(one), Jamaica(twenty-eight), and Guyana(four).
We asked Jason why he keeps going back year after year. He responded, "The relationships are what make our trip successful, There are children that have grown up that I have taught at some point and now have children that we are working within the schools."
TROY JONES
CFO & Director of School Relations
Troy Jones is a veterinarian with offices in Andalusia and Luverne, Alabama. Troy has been involved in mission work for many years and has traveled to Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica and he has been involved in veterinary mission work in Haiti. Troy and his family have been working with GFC in Jamaica for the past six years. When describing the work in Jamaica Troy said, “Getting to see the same children year after year has been a part of this work that my family has really enjoyed. We get to know the administrators and teachers at their schools. We get to know their family situation. We get to see them at church and vacation bible school. They have become a part of our family. There is no greater experience than hearing a school full of Jamaican children sing praises to the Lord! Working with the good people of the Santa Cruz Church of Christ has allowed us the privilege of being the hands and feet of Jesus to these wonderful children.”
Troy is married to Angie Powell Jones and they have four children. All of whom have been to Jamaica with GFC. Chandler is 21 and attends the United States Military Academy at West Point. J.W. is 19 and attends Auburn University. Madeline (16) and Zoey (10) attend Andalusia High School and Elementary school respectively. The Jones family are members of the Central Church of Christ in Andalusia, Alabama.
MITCHELL MYERS
Director of Medicine
Mitchell Myers is from Andalusia, Alabama, where he currently resides with his wife, Heather, daughter, Lora-Leigh, and son, Zeke. Mitchell is the Chief Nursing Officer at a local hospital. He has been involved in international mission work since 2006 and has been involved with Jamaican Missions since 2008. Mitchell states, “My biggest takeaway year after year is the contentment among the Jamaicans. Often we take for granted the luxuries we are blessed to have, but, for the most part, the Jamaican people are content with having the bare necessities. Also, the smiles of the children are something that could ever be erased from my mind. The children are very respectful and receptive to the work we are trying to accomplish for the glory of God. When you hand a child a thrift store t-shirt, and they act like they have been given millions of dollars, that blesses me beyond measure.”
JUSTIN MAYNARD
Director of Church Relations & Curriculum Development
He has been married to his wife Anna Maynard since 2010. They are both pursuing their Master’s in Clinical and Mental Health from Faulkner University. Justin and Anna were missionaries in Kisongo, Tanzania for 4 years. They have had the privilege of working with many mission points around the world. Justin believes in the importance of reaching children at a young age and teaching Christ to impact the next generation. In Jamaica the opportunities are endless to make a difference in the lives of these young children for eternity. If we want faithful adults, it starts with faithful children.
